Glutathione supplementation in semen extender improves rabbit sperm attributes during refrigeration

In the present study, we evaluated sustaining effect of various glutathione (GSH) concentrations in extender on rabbit sperm attributes during storage at 5°C for 24 h. Semen was collected from regular donor bucks using an artificial vagina and initially quality. The qualifying ejaculates were diluted with one extenders having 0, 1, 2, 4 or 8 mM GSH, to achieve a final concentration 1×108 sperm/mL. extended samples stored Sperm motility, motion kinetics, acrosome integrity viability assessed after 3, 6, 12 h storage. results showed that total motility kinetics (oscillation index sperm, straightness beat cross frequency) influenced (<em>P</em>&lt;0.05) by dose refrigeration time. An interaction GSH time observed reaction rate. conclusion, supplemented extender’s protective influence remarkable maintainrabbit quality 5°C.
